About the event
The Portrait Players bring a dynamic programme of songs, duets and instrumental
works focussing on women composers of 17th century Italy. Featuring composers
such as Barbara Strozzi, Isabella Leonarda and Francesca Caccini, The Portrait Players
explore the roles these women played in music making and society, in the home, the
court and the church.
The Portrait Players are an all-female trio presenting ‘wonderfully woven’
