About the event
Duncan Honeybourne is well known as an exponent of British piano music in
many recordings, broadcasts and recitals at home and abroad. He plays a major
discovery, Vaughan Williams’ London Symphony in a powerful solo piano
transcription made, at the composer’s request, by Holst’s colleague and
amanuensis Vally Lasker. The Symphony is complemented by other dramatic
and richly-contoured piano music by British composers.
